Young is no stranger to the Falcon program, having served on the training staff in various capacities since 1996. Young spent the 2001-02 academic year working as an assistant athletic trainer at BGSU under a non-student letter of appointment.

Young has served as the primary athletic trainer for the BGSU men's basketball program over the past two years, and also has overseen the training responsibilities for track and field, cross country and volleyball.

Young began as an athletic training student in the BGSU department of athletics in 1996, and later served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer before assuming full-time duties. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health education with a minor in athletic training from BGSU in 1999, and received his Master of Education degree in developmental kinesiology in August of 2001. Young is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board.
