Allstate Makes Donation to BGSU in Support of Scholarships

Bowling Green Football's recent Spring Game was more than a showcase of the Falcons' talent heading into the upcoming 2008 season, it was also an opportunity to once again look back on the success of 2007, only this time through the eyes of one of BGSU Athletics' valued corporate partners, Allstate Insurance Company.

During the 2007 BGSU Football Season, Allstate Insurance Company featured its "Good Hands" net behind the goal post at all home games to show support for Bowling Green State University.  As part of the same program in place at numerous other universities across the nation, $300 was donated for every Field Goal and $100 for every Extra Point made throughout the course of the season by the Bowling Green place kicker.  When all the points were tallied at the end of the season, $5,100 had been accumulated and was set to be contributed by Allstate in support of BGSU scholarships.

Local Allstate Agent Chuck Johnson was on-hand to present the check on-field at Halftime, and representing BGSU was Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services, Mark Shook.

Falcon Sports Properties' General Manager Todd Kucinski was also on-hand for the presentation.  Kucinski manages the partnership with Allstate from the BGSU Athletics end.

"Allstate has been a very important and loyal partner to BGSU Athletics, and we're very excited to be able to work with Chuck on this program each year.  Our hope is that the success of this program will continue to build and extend the Allstate brand throughout Northwest Ohio."

The upcoming 2008 season will mark the third year Allstate and BGSU Athletics have teamed up for the "Good Hands" net program, with nearly $7,000 donated by Allstate to date through the first two years.
